DART’s goal is to have knowledgeable members trained in earthquake preparedness, basic first aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, basic disaster psychology, urban search and rescue (USAR), fire suppression techniques, hazardous material awareness, emergency radio communications, traffic control techniques and safety assessment. Other areas, including technology, publicity, and community awareness are also necessary to sustain this crucial program. DART provides FREE professional training for new members in all vital functions. Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer member of the City of Thousand Oaks – Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART). Once completed and submitted your application will be reviewed by the DART Board of Directors and we will advise you of the next steps.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • be at least nineteen (18) years of age at time of appointment 
  • be a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident alien citizenship. 
  • possess a valid California driver license.

NOTE: An adult felony conviction is disqualifying. Any illegal activity including illegal drug use/possession or prescription drug abuse may be disqualifying.
