VCSO Captain Don Aguilar Salutes DART

One of the more notable recent pictures of the DART team is when they assisted with evacuations during a wildfire that moved through areas of Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and Moorpark. While performing evacuations, their vehicle was parked on a residential street and was covered with pink colored Phos Chek that was dropped from an aircraft to protect homes from the fire. The Phos Chek turned the DART vehicle into a very meaningful symbol of the moment. #NationalVolunteerWeek2020 THANK YOU DART!

As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, join me in congratulating the highly skilled members of the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART)! Annually, the team volunteers nearly 5,000 hours of their time to support the TOPD. They assist in major disasters, missing person searches, traffic control, first aid, evacuations and so much more! They are always here for us when we need them. — Captain Don Aguilar, Thousand Oaks Police Department. https://nextdoor.com/news_feed/?post=145530202
